A lifelong love of animals, worked in willow

I've loved the natural world all my life. It led me to drawing and painting, then to willow. When I retired from my career as a Senior Lecturer, I put all my energy into weaving animals, birds and gifts for the home and garden.

I use English willow grown in Somerset, and some from closer to home. I make every piece by hand, from tiny mice to large mammals and birds, and I hope you can see how much I love the craft in each one.

From first message to finished piece

A commission takes at least three weeks, because I soak the willow until it's pliable enough to weave.

  1. Tell me your idea

    Send me a message about the animal, bird or piece you'd like, and whether it's for the house or the garden.

  2. Agree the design

    I check in with you at agreed stages and ask you to approve the design and progress before I carry on.

  3. Soak and weave

    I soak the willow, then weave your piece by hand using traditional techniques.

  4. Packed and posted

    I pack each sculpture with care and send it Royal Mail Tracked 48 where I can. Larger pieces go by trusted courier.
